Sick and Tired of Being Sick and Tired…

I must sound like a broken record. I know people must get sick of hearing about it, because I get sick of saying it,

Today, I am very sick, I feel like death. Yes I have been out for the last two days. Yesterday to go shopping and today I took the boys out to Hornby visitor Centre.. (more about that in another post)

It’s now been almost four months that I’ve been suffering with my Asthma flare up combined chest infection, There’s goodish days and bad days, there’s better but not perfect days and REALLY bad days. It does get to you after a while. You don’t have the energy you used to have, just going to a few stores and walking around gets you completely and utterly exhausted and can’t breath, My inhaler has become an oxygen tank, I can’t leave the room without it never mind the house.. There’s days when I really get depressed….but I try to think about the positives. , I am a stay at home mum I know A lot of people who are sick do not get that luxury. Many of them have to force themselves to go to work no matter how absolutely horrible they feel. I’m just trying to rest my body as much as I can, I stay away from going out in the cold air as that has given me trouble in the past, and I’m basically just waiting it out. until the warmer weather gets here or I can shake it once and for all. Problem is I will soon have to do the school run again… oh Joy!!

Some of the hardest days as a mum are when you are sick. You want to be a kid again and snuggle up on the couch all day. I am always taken back to when I was a kid, and had my mum waiting on me hand and foot all day long when I was sick. She would make tomato soup and anything else soft that could be swallowed easily if I had a sore throat, We would listen to the radio and sleep as much as I wanted. I miss being a child when I’m sick.

So what happens when Mummy gets sick? Well, we still have responsibilities, don’t we? Our husbands/Partners still go to work, we have to watch our kids and get their meals, take them to school, wash clean and later make sure they have been in the bath and then put them to bed. And we just have to push through being sick. But it’s not easy, I’m not going to lie. You can’t sleep in, or sleep all day, or just lay around the entire day. And you still are waiting on your kids hand and food while you’re sick.

No sick days for mummy. We can be sick, but we can’t call in sick.

It’s sickie season. I’m ready to be feeling better so my job as mummy is easier.

What do you do when you are really sick and your kids aren’t? Carry on that is what!!

Ok yes Allan has helped out as much as he can but I can’t expect him to do everything!

I wish it was as easy as saying

I have decided that tomorrow I WILL be better.

Life is Good!!

But the main problem is there is Not Enough Hours in a Day

Life is overflowing with things to do & challenges to distract me. I am finally learning that I can’t DO it ALL….do what I CAN; not worry about the rest!! There will NEVER be enough hours in a day otherwise.

One year ago, I was in a whole different place, not a good place. A very sad, kicked in the gut place…
A confusing place where memories had taken over reality and real life…

All I can say is, “WHAT a difference a year makes! !” I don’t often admit this but I have An awesome man who loves me and will do anything for me, Within reason come one the guy was brought up in a house with three women so is still a little subdued and tame when it comes to erm certain things but I’m still working on total corruption:evil:
I’m helped by some fantastically supportive friends and family, two fun-loving kids and I have had a dream-come-true of a year! I have finally found the magic of christmas and love again…I had lost my way for a long time.

Sure there have been a few tough spots to work through (mostly within myself), but overall, those don’t even scratch the surface of how fucking happy I am! Can’t even explain how loved I feel…without a doubt!

Life has taken a turn for the better..Despite the lack of shall we say intimacy but then since I have been ill it’s not just one-sided that things have taken a back burner…. maybe I will explain in another post!!

May it continue in 2012

The Toxic one is banished forever!! No More Mother in Law from Hell!!

I have just realised like you do at 3am in the morning, one of the reason’s why our christmas has been so great…..

We havent had to endure the toxic one…

Since my posting on facebook

(going back to here)

I haven’t had to put up with the crap from the mother in law..  Of course word got back to her what I thought…

and yes it apparently took me right off her christmas card and present list… whooo hooooo!!

Of course now the downside is I will never see another pound shop present and naff smelly set again and I will have to actually buy something to give to the school raffle..

Of course after the boxing day visit we had to make a couple of years ago to the manor  oh bungalow but to her it’s a manor house.. with my dad where they were to be honest downright rude and obnoxious, and picked on my baby Ali for doing something when Joshua a year younger than him is still running around being a pain, not even able to eat at the table because A. He wont sit still and B wont eat real food but can do no wrong.. when All Ali was doing was trying to work a puzzle out HELLO THE KID IS HALF BLIND  do not pick on him for missing a few tiny bits when picking up the puzzle…

Anyway as I was saying after that visit I told Allan I would NEVER go back there again… Besides in the 7 years we have lived in this house (nearly 8) they have only ever been here twice…… once for Alex’s Christening and then they were rude and ignored everyone… and once for boxing day when again they left after a few house and were rude.
So as I have said in the past its their turn to come here… Joshua is now at school so they can hardly use the excuse he is a baby and needs all the equipment.. (although funny how I had to take everything over there when I had both boys as babies and had the girls )

They can’t use the fact that we smoke… we havent for two years now..

oh we have a dog… they could have used that one..

nah lets face it since Joshua was born she has no interest in her other grandchildren and you know what…
I couldn’t be more pleased 🙂

Seriously though I am not saying (because no doubt she would take us to court for access to grandchildren or something ) that she will never see the boys again.

What I am saying is that she will have to come here to see them at a convenient time booked in advance with me.

When Allan is off work and I can go out round Jo’s lol

I am so loving this freedom from the old bitch and her daughter…

Christmas is over – Let normality return to the household once again!!

Well as Normal as this house ever gets!!

Don’t get me wrong I have loved Christmas this year, Every Second of it but now I just want things to get back to normal.

I have already made a start on taking the decorations down by moving some of the furniture so really all that is left is the ceiling decorations and the tree and window lights.

and If I have my way they will be down by the end of the day 🙄

I just want to declutter now, what looked festive a few weeks ago now looks cluttered!!

The plan was that Both Allan and I would go back on our low-fat diet for the new year but looking at the masses of food and goodies in the house there is no point in even attempting to!

So we have revised our plan…Like when we gave up smoking  And succeeded at , we will start when the time is right instead of making it a new years resolution that will probably be broken.

So the plan is eat drink and be merry, finish off all the goodies and then start the diets , the exercise and the general health eating!!

Well Officially the decorations were all down… and put upstairs ready to go up in the attic by 2pm today…

Not a decoration or hint of Christmas can be seen !!
Not even a twinkle of glitter from a card!!
Anyone for a cream egg?!??

Wish us luck!!

What can I say, I have had a lovely Christmas!! The best in Years.

Christmas has been nigh on perfect!

Allan helped out with everything right down to cleaning the bathroom

we had a lovely christmas day, My dad of course was with us but left after dinner as he had ordered a taxi so he could have a drink.

Jo and Adam also came for the day so it was as I love a family and friends Christmas Dinner.

I confess to going overboard on the food.. A huge joint of Roast Beef, a Huge  joint of roast pork and a Turkey maybe have been a little too much 🙄

But we had it again with salad and lots of nibbles etc on Boxing day and the half Joint of Beef I shall dice and make a stew out of in the slow cooker and the Pork I shall dice up and make a sweet and sour pork out of tomorrow and then Freeze  them both down..
The Dog had an extra Christmas Present and had the last of the Turkey Meat for his dinner on Boxing day.
Of course the kids loved their presents , I had a lovely present from my secret santa.
A chocolate melting pot, a set of mouse moulds for making chocolate or sweet mice, and some strawberry pink chocolate buttons to make the mice with

It really was a lovely Surprise 🙂

I have to admit I’m no one for giving cards but Allan even came up trumps with those and made it very special

I couldn’t choose which picture to go with this post so I decided just this once to post loads and loads 😆

The only thing that would have made the day even more perfect would have been to have spent it with all my children and grandchildren together 😦

the Nikon I treated myself to this christmas , lovely little camera

Last but not least the "Good" Nikon Camera but I find this too bulky to take to a lot of places!! lovely quality pics though!

I do have a little fujifilm finepix jv100 which i bought for panoramic shots but am still working out how to use it  grrrrr most useless camera i have ever had can’t seem to get anything in focus no matter what setting I use..
What one do I use the most..
The little Pink Samsung for the pure fact it takes good quality pics, its easy to use and it fits into my bag no problem so I always have a camera with me 🙂
