Going…. Going….. It’s Going!!!

I’m impressed with my will power… so you will have to excuse my blowing my own trumpet here lol … I weighed myself sat morning and had only lost 1lb so was a bit gutted to be honest.. as it was only a total of 9lb since I started on Monday. so Saturday I really upped the anti I did my usual exercise.. then we went off for a very long walk round moat park (the place is huge) … and in the evening we all played on the wii so we did bowling, tennis. etc plus i had a wii jog lol Sunday I didn’t weigh in at all, Allan and I had both decided that Sundays were a naughty but nice day.. were we would lapse a little so we could have Sunday dinner etc.. so we did although we did have smaller portions I avoided the Yorkshire pudding etc and instead of having half an apple pie with custard i just had a slither , in the evening I even had a bag of crisps (baked so lower fat than normal ones and only 103 cal a pack) anyway I got on the wii today to weigh in expecting to have gained a couple of lb and to my surprise I have lost another 6lb I have reached my 3 week goal of a stone already. so now need to set another goal. I realize that this week is a lot of water loss so it’s not going to happen again… should I set another 1 stone over three week goal or should I go for it and go over 2 weeks Hmmmm wonder what is the most realistic type of goal to set. ?

Anyway here  are a few pics of the Dog Walk around Moat Park It was lovely when we started but a black cloud came rolling over and the heavens opened up for all of a few seconds… we did have a lovely double rainbow though.

Day 5 of the new me! -8lb

Please feel free to totally ignore me but I have to say I am pleased with the way things are going Diet wise

Day 5 now and I have lost a total of 8lb… Yes I know that the first couple of weeks in a diet you lose mostly water but who cares…

I am 8lb lighter………. I have been really good and am surprised at how easy it has been so far..

breakfast a 30g bowl of low-fat cereal with skimmed milk

Lunch a bag of Kellogg’s mini bites which are 100 cal

(Bearing in mind I never do breakfast and lunch really)

Diners have been either a jacket sweet potato with a thin spread of light Marge with a very lean piece of pork chop and salad or a normal type dinner but with smaller portions.

I have changed the plates we use around.. I have put away all the larger size ones and got out the old cheapo white ones which were small.  smaller plate = less food

again with the bowls smaller bowl = less in it.

I think Allan is struggling when it comes to his late night sugar fix as that’s when he used to fill up on chocolate and crisps.

I am actually a tad proud of myself… on the school run this afternoon Jo went into the co op and came out with some cheese straws  .. I turned one down… we used to be able to do 2 very easily lol

I have done my Wii exercises twice now… in all fairness its the only chance I have had to do them as the father figure has been round most of the day all week

But yesterday I told him that I have started to do exercises every morning and not to come round before 10.30… today he came round at 11am but I have no doubt he will forget about it and start coming round early again soon.

Fingers crossed I can keep this up…

In reality my aim is to lose about 3lb a week.

And after all I can’t let Allan lose more weight than me lol

This is going to be a long haul so expect to be bored stupid.

The Feeding Frenzy Stops Now! Mr Wii fit nearly passed out when I stood on him!

Yes I know I have said that we were planning on going back on our low-fat diet on many an occasion since we gave up smoking but today it goes into force..

We had decided the other day that we would start today (Monday) But not being able to sleep I decided to get the Wii fit out its been 208 days since I have used it… which is basically since I got bad feet originally as I couldn’t do the step etc….

Well I have just had the shock of my life… I know my knee pain is going to stop me doing a lot of exercise, I know my chest still being weak is not going to help… but until I can make a start of getting rid of this extra body fat, Neither is going to get better so it’s a vicious circle..

According to Wii fit plus I have the Wii fit age of 54….. OK I could live with that knowing how obese I am and bearing in mind I am 50 in November if it wasn’t for the fact that two years ago I had a Wii fit age of 34.

The Wii fit plus man says I should have a body weight of just over 10 stone… and I can’t remember what the BMI should be but I do know that is not the right weight for me… Ideally I would be fit and happy with a body weight of about 11 to 12 stone… I don’t look right in a size 12 I am a naturally size 14/16 stuck in a fat body! Even so if I went by what the Wii man says I need to lose half my body weight..

I can’t do major work out’s YET! shame I can’t have one of those personal trainers like on biggest looser.. someone who would sort every morsel of food that goes in this body and someone who would work out a program of exercise I could do.. oh and a personal doctor to help sort out everything that’s wrong with me so I could work out like a trojan.

But in the mean time back in the real world I can cut back and go on a healthy diet… I can make time to do my basic Wii fit exercise again..

Allan has said we can get the exercise bike down out of the back room so I could sit and ride while watching tv because lets face it upstairs even if it wasn’t used as a store-room is boring. once i have lost some weight and am more motivated then we can start using all the other stuff we have up there i.e. cross trainer etc. …

Now all I need is daddy free time to do this… well I am going to have to make time…

I need to lose weight before the summer holidays… I intend on making use of the swimming facilities and don’t want anyone to harpoon me thinking I am the great white whale. OK I know this is going to take a long time.. it took me years to get fat so I’m not expecting it to all come off at once.. but its a start for the rest of my life.

Maybe if I spent less time on the internet and more time on exercise I would be better off… I have given up playing games on face book so if I can just beat my addiction to lurk I will be winning… Freegle is taking up less time now as well as I have a couple of moderators so really I have no excuse.

Actually funny thing mentioning the internet .. its 4.18am and at the moment its down.. I know it worked an hour ago so obviously Virgin are having some problems

So my plan is..

low-fat diet (obviously)

need to seriously work out some low-fat low-cost meals for both Allan and I.
If the kids will eat them then it’s a bonus.

Us Wii fit plus every day and maybe keep a weight loss diary and remember to do a weekly blog even if its only about that.

Use exercise bike (once its down) every day.

Once the warmer weather gets here and hopefully I can actually walk further without dying.. Actually walk the kids back home from school. (mornings are too hectic in this house to actually walk them there and it is too far for the kids really)

Starting today!

Well I did an hour and a half using the Wii fit and the Zumba.. (Jeeze that’s hard work) I did feel I could have done more but by the time my dad had left and I had done some exercise it was time to get the boys from school

Diet plan for the day, I have had a packet of the special K bites lemon flavour which are 99 calories  and for dinner we are having a low-fat chicken curry with a small good for you nan bread..

Allan has had one of those meal replacement shakes at lunch time, I didn’t bother as I wasn’t hungry  Not sure if skipping meals is a good thing or not.. I will work this out though… I know  I am determined really because I need to be here to see my boys grow up.

Got some Major catching up to do!

Well, what an end to the Easter Holidays!
It’s been quite A rollercoaster of events and no time for blogging.
So get yourself a cup of tea –
I have a feeling this blog may be a long one as we catch up on events from the past few weeks.

 Are you sitting comfortably?
Then I shall begin …

We had some fantastic weather the last week the kids were at school, it wasn’t bad the first five days they were off school but since then we have had nothing but cold and overcast, its seems the clouds had rolled in and we’ve been treated to week of over cast, cold weather, sometimes the clouds were so black I thought we were going to have some torrential rain… but no… we had five min’s of rain and that’s it…. the clouds moved on by…. And the hose pipe ban has come into force…. This will of course affect the garden this summer and what is going to be grown in it, Veg wise  But I will blog about that another day.

The problem with this weather is what to do with the kids..   Alex had decided that he wanted to take a break from his Karate so we agreed he could have the Easter Break off…  As it goes the Wednesday before they broke up from school he was really under the weather anyway so he has had three weeks off which to be honest has done him good I think he was getting over tired from it and its given his knee’s and legs a rest as well.  (one day I will go into what’s actually wrong with him in more detail )

The first week they were off we took them to the Chatham dockyard which they loved going back to, and of course their old favourite the spitfire and RAF Manston museum.
The other trip I had planned for them was on the Sittingbourne and Kemsley Light Railway
http://www.sklr.net/
for a trip but sadly that was cancelled because asbestos was found in a pipe running adjacent to the railway.

As it goes that day it was cold anyway so the boys were happy having a chill day.

We did go out to the park a couple of times so it wasn’t a bad week.

On the way up the park

A quick kick around

Oh and we went on an Easter egg hunt as well to Riverside Country Park, we also took our neighbours son Adam with us.. With the exception of him running off (but was found) the boys really enjoyed the trail although I have to say while the 20 odd questions were actually very hard for youngsters the prize was not very good at all, A little Mini Egg… I think next year I will find somewhere else to take them to.

Finding the Clues and Answering the Questions..

Collecting their naff prize either a silly plastic toy or a mini egg... wow and the trail took two hours for that?!?

Sunday of course was Easter Sunday now I am not religious at all but I do know what its like for kids when all their friends at school go on about how they got this and that on religious holidays so I have never deprived my boys of Christmas and Easter… except for the fact that its more an end of year present giving and pig out… and Easter is chocolate egg weekend lol

And with that in mind I decided that this year I would make them a basket each instead of just buying a chocolate egg, I was actually quite impressed with them.

Their eggs and baskets I made

I think this will become a new tradition in the house…… Maybe next year I wont do all chocolate though… I may add a little treat in instead.

Having been ill Again 😦 I am now back on the sofa although I am recovering much better this time.. thankfully it’s not gone onto my chest completely just more of a cold and cough. I have been told I have a very weak immune system since I got bronchitis last year and need to build myself up so I am now on a course of some major Vitamin  and iron and omega 3 capsules and it all seems to be helping as I am now fighting this bug off on my own without needing huge amounts of antibiotics and I am just about managing to cope in the day.

Alex has been asking to go to an amusement park for a while now and the idea of Alton towers really filled me with dread as I knew it would cost fortunes and the boys wouldn’t be able to go on much, however there is one place I had forgotten about until someone reminded me the other day when they were posting some pictures… Southend Adventure Island…  It’s Ideal Not that far from home… its wrist band entry so not silly money… So I looked on-line and they were doing a deal on wrist bands which can be used any time in the year so I have bought a couple of the red bands for them and I am tempted while they are on offer to get a couple of the green ones,  If the boys are too tall for the red ones then I can always upgrade them and if they are too small for the greens ones then Allan can go on the rides with them…. (Did you notice I said Allan there… well he knows nothing about it yet lol ). The good thing is they don’t run out until the end of 2012 so will save them for special treats when the weather does eventually get better…

Today is the last day off before the boys go back to school on Monday. I have to say on one hand I’m looking forward to it so I can start getting the house in some order but on the other hand not only is it back to the dreaded school run (which I may have mentioned I hate 🙄 ) but I will miss the boys… Although Ali has certainly had his challenging moments over the last two weeks.

Yesterday I had a trial run of a cake to make for this Cake Meeting… the theme is fruit and veg. so I thought the cake should contain both so had made an eggplant cake with strawberries… different and not that bad… We will also be making a carrot and ginger cake with lemon frosting.. Again Fruit and Veg…

I have noticed that the host is making an apple cake…. where is the veg in that… When I go if that is wall she has done I will ask what is the point in having a theme such as fruit and veg if it can be either after all anyone can make a normal carrot cake or a fruit cake..

Eggplant and Strawberry Cake

Oh and I will remember to put them right about who did most of the baking of the last cake…

I have a feeling I wont be invited again afterwards lol Anyway Hopefully I am caught up now and can try and get some sleep seeing as its now 3.08am   Yawn!!!

Night Folks!!!
