Parents evening. It would be a proud mummy moment if they were as good at home!

This is my status for this evening on facebook.  for those who are on my friends list you may have already seen it but for those who are not on my friends list  here we go!

Last Wednesday I went to a parents evening for both the boys..
They both got excellent reports….. Both work really hard.. Ali even speaks to one of the teachers (although she admits that they have never actually had a conversation out of him since he started school) but he does as he is asked work wise and will reply when asked. and his mental maths is fantastic.
His only fault is his handwriting but as he is blind in his left eye and left-handed he cant even see what he has written until he is halfway across the page. Alex is a pleasure to teach… Seriously?
He works hard..  In fact no one could say a bad word about either of them.
SO why are they such hard work at home?..
Alex is the most obnoxious little s**t I have ever known and Ali is just hard work and living on the edge of Meltdown constantly.
Alex knows exactly which buttons to push and boy is he pushing Ali.
I know he is working hard and a lot is just sensory overload but Alex is winding him up and getting to the point of pushing him over the top. we have warned him again and again, and Ali is going seriously going to kill him……..

So if you see me with a shovel in the dark of night digging a big hole in the garden… It wasn’t me who killed Alex… it was Ali!!
They are like this all the time except tonight… Allan was out tonight and we had peace………….. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Not our day!

I don’t often get the chance to get on the internet nowadays as I am usually busy doing something or the boys are on the pc’s  (yes they have their laptops but still use the pcs for gaming as its easier)  but Allan is doing a disco tonight so wont be back until late… The boys have been fed and I have told them for their own safety to go to bed otherwise I will kill them.    We took them out to Canterbury today and popped into Morrisons to pick up some bread as it was by the park and ride and they wanted lunch so we had fish and chips there…….  10 x better than the Sittingbourne branch and more comfortable to sit in…

(I was told this is because the café had been established a lot longer)

Anyway.. we went to get into the landrover to go home so Allan could go and do the disco as he had to be there for 2pm to take the trailer and set up when the landrover wouldn’t start.  due to the position it was parked in there was no space for another car to get up along side to jump start us so I had to call out the RAC.
The waiting time would be within 75 mins..   (and yes they arrived 75 mins after we called them)  The new battery we were sold last year ( we have had a lot of problems starting the bloody thing and changing heat plugs etc) is apparently not up to the job for starting a diesel landrover and more for starting a petrol fiesta.  Fuck Fuck Fuck!  Seriously I am not impressed as we had to drive all over the place to actually get that one just before the winter and the place we got it off was even recommended to us by Island 4×4 who specialise in bloody landrovers.   It took two mins for the RAC guy to get the landrover started.
Anyhooo  we are running late……. The boys are arguing because Ali had peeled a sticker off the back of  Alex’s MP4 player when he borrowed it as his had run out of charge.

Thankfully Shelby Our weekend guest was as good as gold the whole time and sat in her seat playing with a toy I had taken and having her drink.
we got back home and Allan was going to drop us off and then go and pick up the trailer with the disco equipment in….  one slight problem.. I didn’t have my door keys on me so he had to turn the landrover off .  unlocked the front door and Nope the fucker wouldn’t start again.  Thankfully he hadn’t blocked the drive so I could get my car out and jump start him so he could go… but we need to get the landy sorted asap as I have sold my car and it goes on April 11th  (I didn’t see the point in keeping it now as I hardly ever use it and one car does us fine… and it will save us some money not having to tax, insure and run  two cars.)

So what else could go wrong…….. Well Alex and Ali are still at each others throats but what else is new.. they just clash at the moment………..  Allan has the Arse because he was late…………  But then he has had the Arse constantly lately….   I wonder if I can make a secret camp in the loft so when they are all in a foul mood over the holidays I can have a safe place to hide………

Tomorrows Another day!

A glimpse of spring/summer

The last week or so we have had beautiful weather. The sun has shone its been warmer and we have been able to get out and about.
I’m really looking forward to the Easter holidays when the kids break up from school only Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday to go now and that’s it.. I have outings planned for the Easter Break and summer holidays.
We have a cub camp coming up in June & its getting time to prepare for the other activities planned.
Our mini holiday to Camber sands is also coming up in May and we have said we would take one of Alex’s friends with us and of course our little weekend house guest most likely.
The weather may have turned colder and wetter again although today was quite sunny again and slightly warmer  and we had a few downpours but it’s still not been that bad. At least it was ok for the Easter Egg hunt for the cubs last Thursday. I had visions of them trawling the woods for plastic eggs covered in mud.
We have this weekend and then I will be counting down the hours till next Wednesday when they break up from school and then they go back to school.
And I will be saying I can’t wait till Summer I want new flip-flops, although with all the rain we have had this winter Im sure my toes should already be webbed like flippers.

Scout Master Ted………… It’s a joke honest!

Dear Mum,

Our Scoutmaster told us to write to our parents in case you saw the flood on TV and got worried. We are okay. Only one of our tents and 2 sleeping bags got washed away. Luckily, none of us got drowned because we were all up on the mountain looking for Adam when it happened.

Oh yes, please call Adam’s mother and tell her he is okay. He can’t write because of the cast. I got to ride in one of the search and rescue Jeeps. It was great. We never would have found Adam in the dark if it hadn’t been for the lightning.

Scoutmaster Ted got mad at Adam for going on a hike alone without telling anyone. Adam said he did tell him, but it was during the fire so he probably didn’t hear him. Did you know that if you put petrol on a fire, it will blow up?

The wet wood didn’t burn, but one of the tents did and also some of our clothes. Matthew is going to look weird until his hair grows back.

We will be home on Saturday if Scoutmaster Ted gets the bus fixed. It wasn’t his fault about the crash. The brakes worked okay when we left. Scoutmaster Ted said that with a bus that old, you have to expect something to break down; that’s probably why he can’t get insurance.

We think it’s a super bus. He doesn’t care if we get it dirty, and if it’s hot, sometimes he lets us ride on the bumpers. It gets pretty hot with 45 people in a bus made for 24. He let us take turns riding in the trailer until the policeman stopped and talked to us.

Scoutmaster Ted is a neat guy. Don’t worry, he is a good driver. In fact, he is teaching Horace how to drive on the mountain roads where there aren’t any cops. All we ever see up there are huge logging trucks.

This morning all of the guys were diving off the rocks and swimming out to the rapids. Scoutmaster Ted wouldn’t let me because I can’t swim, and Adam was afraid he would sink because of his cast , so he let us take the canoe out. It was great. You can still see some of the trees under the water from the flood.

Scoutmaster Ted isn’t crabby like some scoutmasters. He didn’t even get mad about the life jackets. He has to spend a lot of time working on the bus so we are trying not to cause him any trouble.

Guess what? We have all passed our first aid merit badges. When Andrew dived into the lake and cut his arm, we all got to see how a tourniquet works.

Steve and I threw up, but Scoutmaster Ted said it was probably just food poisoning from the left-over chicken. He said they got sick that way with food they ate in prison. I’m so glad he got out and became our scoutmaster. He said he sure figured out how to get things done better while he was doing his time. By the way, what is a pedal-file?

I have to go now. We are going to town to post our letters and buy some more beer and ammo. Don’t worry about anything. We are fine and tonight it’s my turn to sleep in the Scoutmaster’s tent.
This is how you find out which of the scouting leaders and gsl’s actually have a sense of humour lol …… Our Gsl   wasn’t impressed… Me I thought it was hilarious 🙂

Whoever woke me up is going to die!

Having spent many years as a complete insomniac sometimes going days with no sleep, As my kids have got older…… My body can now actually go to sleep. My problem is when someone WAKES me up once I have gone to sleep, Whether I have had half an hour or a few hours. Once I have woken up I lay there, I can not go back to sleep, I have learnt over the years not to get up, read a book, go on Facebook because this makes it worse.. I lie there in the dark, I lie there until daylight sometimes. You may not know you have woken me up but you have. Some days I get so tired that I am finally ready to snap and kill someone… Today is one of those days.

At the moment I am sleeping on the sofa bed downstairs so actually trying to get to sleep with the hall light on is hard enough in the first place because the stop-out hasn’t got in yet… But what is worse is when the so-called stop-out wakes me up when she gets in. I then begin my long sleepless night, lying in bed in the dark, trying to get back to sleep again.. looking at the time every hour or so… In last nights case the last time I actually looked at the time was about 4.45am although I didn’t go to sleep then, Like I said that is what time I last checked the time not went to sleep.

Unlike some lazy cow who can wake up with a headache and go back to bed until 3.10pm yes I said PM. I get up early because we have school to get the boys up for. or we have other things that need doing.. Anything past 8am to me is a long lie in even at weekends. I just can’t do it I can’t lay in bed in the mornings. I have spent years getting up with kids. My body doesn’t know Lay in. Unlike a certain person who cant even put their own dirty washing in the machine if its dirty in there or keep it together in her room until its time to bring it all down and prefers to throw it on the floor in the kitchen. Nice……. Dirty Knickers on the floor

So to say that I am in the mood to kill today is an understatement. Revenge isn’t even sweet. I pushed the button on the smoke alarm for a good five mins this morning to wake the lazy mare up to see how she likes it.. and Nope that didn’t even work…….. You know what.. If the house really was on fire I would let you burn…….

Be warned this is the last time this is going to happen.. because the door will be locked at midnight Sunday night to Friday night and 1am on Friday night and Saturday night unless there is a special occasion which deems staying out later. If a certain person is locked out more than three nights… That certain person can find somewhere else to bloody live. MY HOUSE MY RULES!

I figure I might as well put this here because it doesn’t seem to go into your thick head when we tell you.

It’s Nice when hard work and taking the time is rewarded.

Both Allan and I have been “Friends of Milton Creek Country Park” for the last year or two now and we are both also on the sub committee for the Art in the Park event which is due to take place in the summer by the way.

This was presented to all the friends for all the work done.

The award was accepted by Lynda Marshall and Ed Courtney on behalf of the friends…

The Sittingbourne Society founded in 1977 to keep a watchful eye on developments and campaign for various improvements in and around Sittingbourne, has presented three local good causes with cheques and a rather impressive trophy.
The main award of the evening was the Society Rose Bowl presentation to Lynda Marshall and Ed Courtney of the Friends of Milton Creek Country Park (they also received a cheque for £500 a new bench for the park from the John George Jordan Bequest fund).

This was posted on the friends of Milton creek Country Park  facebook page.

It’s and open page so anyone can look

Well done everyone for all your hard work to help improve the Park. I have just received the certificate from the Sittingbourne Society to go with the Rose Bowl that we have been awarded in recognition of all our efforts.
