Got some Major catching up to do!

Well, what an end to the Easter Holidays!
It’s been quite A rollercoaster of events and no time for blogging.
So get yourself a cup of tea –
I have a feeling this blog may be a long one as we catch up on events from the past few weeks.

 Are you sitting comfortably?
Then I shall begin …

We had some fantastic weather the last week the kids were at school, it wasn’t bad the first five days they were off school but since then we have had nothing but cold and overcast, its seems the clouds had rolled in and we’ve been treated to week of over cast, cold weather, sometimes the clouds were so black I thought we were going to have some torrential rain… but no… we had five min’s of rain and that’s it…. the clouds moved on by…. And the hose pipe ban has come into force…. This will of course affect the garden this summer and what is going to be grown in it, Veg wise  But I will blog about that another day.

The problem with this weather is what to do with the kids..   Alex had decided that he wanted to take a break from his Karate so we agreed he could have the Easter Break off…  As it goes the Wednesday before they broke up from school he was really under the weather anyway so he has had three weeks off which to be honest has done him good I think he was getting over tired from it and its given his knee’s and legs a rest as well.  (one day I will go into what’s actually wrong with him in more detail )

The first week they were off we took them to the Chatham dockyard which they loved going back to, and of course their old favourite the spitfire and RAF Manston museum.
The other trip I had planned for them was on the Sittingbourne and Kemsley Light Railway
http://www.sklr.net/
for a trip but sadly that was cancelled because asbestos was found in a pipe running adjacent to the railway.

As it goes that day it was cold anyway so the boys were happy having a chill day.

We did go out to the park a couple of times so it wasn’t a bad week.

On the way up the park

A quick kick around

Oh and we went on an Easter egg hunt as well to Riverside Country Park, we also took our neighbours son Adam with us.. With the exception of him running off (but was found) the boys really enjoyed the trail although I have to say while the 20 odd questions were actually very hard for youngsters the prize was not very good at all, A little Mini Egg… I think next year I will find somewhere else to take them to.

Finding the Clues and Answering the Questions..

Collecting their naff prize either a silly plastic toy or a mini egg... wow and the trail took two hours for that?!?

Sunday of course was Easter Sunday now I am not religious at all but I do know what its like for kids when all their friends at school go on about how they got this and that on religious holidays so I have never deprived my boys of Christmas and Easter… except for the fact that its more an end of year present giving and pig out… and Easter is chocolate egg weekend lol

And with that in mind I decided that this year I would make them a basket each instead of just buying a chocolate egg, I was actually quite impressed with them.

Their eggs and baskets I made

I think this will become a new tradition in the house…… Maybe next year I wont do all chocolate though… I may add a little treat in instead.

Having been ill Again 😦 I am now back on the sofa although I am recovering much better this time.. thankfully it’s not gone onto my chest completely just more of a cold and cough. I have been told I have a very weak immune system since I got bronchitis last year and need to build myself up so I am now on a course of some major Vitamin  and iron and omega 3 capsules and it all seems to be helping as I am now fighting this bug off on my own without needing huge amounts of antibiotics and I am just about managing to cope in the day.

Alex has been asking to go to an amusement park for a while now and the idea of Alton towers really filled me with dread as I knew it would cost fortunes and the boys wouldn’t be able to go on much, however there is one place I had forgotten about until someone reminded me the other day when they were posting some pictures… Southend Adventure Island…  It’s Ideal Not that far from home… its wrist band entry so not silly money… So I looked on-line and they were doing a deal on wrist bands which can be used any time in the year so I have bought a couple of the red bands for them and I am tempted while they are on offer to get a couple of the green ones,  If the boys are too tall for the red ones then I can always upgrade them and if they are too small for the greens ones then Allan can go on the rides with them…. (Did you notice I said Allan there… well he knows nothing about it yet lol ). The good thing is they don’t run out until the end of 2012 so will save them for special treats when the weather does eventually get better…

Today is the last day off before the boys go back to school on Monday. I have to say on one hand I’m looking forward to it so I can start getting the house in some order but on the other hand not only is it back to the dreaded school run (which I may have mentioned I hate 🙄 ) but I will miss the boys… Although Ali has certainly had his challenging moments over the last two weeks.

Yesterday I had a trial run of a cake to make for this Cake Meeting… the theme is fruit and veg. so I thought the cake should contain both so had made an eggplant cake with strawberries… different and not that bad… We will also be making a carrot and ginger cake with lemon frosting.. Again Fruit and Veg…

I have noticed that the host is making an apple cake…. where is the veg in that… When I go if that is wall she has done I will ask what is the point in having a theme such as fruit and veg if it can be either after all anyone can make a normal carrot cake or a fruit cake..

Eggplant and Strawberry Cake

Oh and I will remember to put them right about who did most of the baking of the last cake…

I have a feeling I wont be invited again afterwards lol Anyway Hopefully I am caught up now and can try and get some sleep seeing as its now 3.08am   Yawn!!!

Night Folks!!!

The Thieving lowlife we have in this village strike again!!

There really are some sad fuckwits round here, fancy nicking the boys stone snake ornaments out of the front garden (that they paid for out of their money) and a paving slab??!! WTF you sad cunt… you could have bought the lot brand new for less than a tenner at Whelans. instead I have two upset boys until I get a chance to replace them, and to any neighbours reading this if the sad fucker tried to sell you them remind the low life sad fucker they are less than £3 each brand new… The annoying thing is they nick something worth so little, of course we have an idea of who did it but as usual can’t prove it..

The missing items are the two small snakes at the back and the small paving slab nearest to them

I mean how sad can you get… Well I have moved the other bigger S  shape snake and the Iggy statue into the back garden now…  just gets to me how sad they are…

and yes we have an idea who it is.. someone mentioned to us a while ago that a certain local thieving cunt liked a couple of the ornaments.

BBQ in October in 90 degrees farenheit!!

Can you believe it , This weekend we have had a BBQ and the boys have had a paddling pool out its been 30c  which is 86 Fahrenheit today and yesterday when we did have the BBQ with Tammy and her friend Jipzee over according to our thingy it was over 90 and yes I think it was right.  its October 3rd… No we are not is some far off country  we are in Sittingbourne in Kent UK…

the weather we have had for the last week has been nicer than most of the summer holiday… Dont get me wrong its not been a bad summer, its been hot but we have had a fair amount of overcast days

They have forecast snow soon… WTF  the boys are wearing shorts and shirts to school this week, it seems strange that in three weeks time they could be wearing their coats hats and gloves……… Time will tell..

What I will say is its been a trying weekend to say the least………

I cant remember if I have mentioned it before but Tamara did a hit and run at Christmas last year.. two days after Christmas once she had got her haul she buggered off… next thing is in the summer holidays we get a text to say she wants to go to Canterbury with her friends and she wants her money, that she got for her birthday and christmas it was about £35.. we said no unless she comes over as that is to spend when she is with us.. well funny enough two weeks later she came over with Amber  who I will say usually visits every week on a Monday saying she wants her money to go clothes shopping , so she got her birthday money plus an extra £10 she went clothes shopping came back to the house, showed us and then pissed off home not to be heard from again.. until about a week and a half ago when she texted Allan to ask if she can come over on the 1st October with her friend for a few hours… he said of course….. they are both welcome… but the cynical me thought she is only coming because it is her birthday on the Tuesday (oct 4th) and she thinks she will get her birthday money when she comes…

Thing is this year it was amber’s 18th birthday so she got a couple of presents plus £100 in cash off us and £50 off my dad but we did say that was it now no more big presents until her 21st… just a little something to unwrap if you know what I mean..
anyway I’m sure Tamara is expecting the same kind of present.. and my dad who didn’t even get a thank you for her Christmas present from him has said he will give her £10 in a card and she can have it on or after her birthday but not before and I’m tempted to just pick her up a little something as a gift.. new shirt or something. and give her no cash… I’m positive this is the only reason she is coming over…
Am I being too cynical. Amber comes every week even though she thinks that she wont even get a Christmas present. well only a box of chocs or something, I don’t expect them to stay over but I do expect her to keep in contact expect when she wants something.. its winding me right up

In a way I wish I could have said  its inconvenient for her to come , we had made plans to take the boys to a museum they wanted to go to for a Viking workshop we paid £9 each for (have i mentioned my boys are nerdy geeks lol ) but we will have to cancel because she is coming and Allan feels our names would be mud if we said no she cant come that day. as its only the second time she has come over since christmas last year..
I just want to slap her lol

Anyway because the weather is like hot hot hot I decide to do a BBQ so get in the stuff… Tammy even texts in the morning to say can she bring even another friend over… we say yes again……

he then went to the shops and got some more bits so we would have more than enough for us and Tammy and her friends .. Tammy came about 12pm  in the end with only one friend as she couldn’t be bothered to knock for the other one :-/ anyway she was totally ignorant all day really her friend said more than she did and even then I think her friend was more interested in the snakes and ZZ as we got them out for a little while to enjoy the sun..  to be honest it was hard work getting a word out of either of them plus we had loads of food so I ran around and asked Jo if both her and Adam would like to pop round for a BBQ which they did, the boys all enjoyed playing in the garden and in the tiny paddling pool that Ali got out along with his bag of play balls and the play tents  anyway about 6pm Tammy turned to allan and said she wanted to go now.. so he went to get the car out the drive as mine was blocking his in. anyway i was in the garden with the boys and Jo noticed that the girls had gone.. they left both without a goodbye or thank you. when Allan got back i asked if they had said anything to him and he said all he got when they got out of the car was see you……….. … I’m Actually quite fuming.. As I said its her birthday on Tuesday and ive a good mind to stick a fiver in a card and just post it to her………. When Amber comes on her own or with her friend she always says good bye and even her friends come and say bye … its manners something that I’m afraid Tammy didn’t have at all.

I think what peeves me off the most is where I have been ill I admit the house has become cluttered etc so I had a major Blitz around and really knocked myself out tidying up and of course getting the stuff out and sorted for the BBQ getting extra chairs down from the loft … I’m still finding it hard getting over this bronchitis and can only do a little at a time…..   so now I feel like I have taken a couple of steps back in recover.. 😦

And even today (Sunday) we haven’t even had a text off her to say thank-you 😡

The Hoarder I live with still exists only now i have joined ranks!

Back in June 2009 I posted about living with a Hoarder.

https://notyouraveragemother.wordpress.com/2009/06/13/living-with-a-hoarder-now-thats-when-freecycle-now-freegle-had-its-use/

Well nothing has changed, If fact I think I have joined the ranks looking at what is in the house now 😕

I have at long last worked out why indeed Allan is a hoarder..  and why I have become one..

Relationships is the key word..

Every-time Allan has been in a relationship that has ended he is the one that has “lost” everything not that in the past he had that much anyway but his Ex wife got the house and all contents and then when he lived with Wendy again all his belongings vanished or were stolen when he moved out and stayed with some so-called friends..

Same here.. When I had to leave the house I was left with nothing really except the clothes I was standing up in. As I said in the last blog.. we had nothing. we started out in this house with nothing.

I now believe that secretly deep down we strive to replace everything and more… problem is I’m trying to replace everything from a 4 bedroom massive house.. Allan is replacing all his tools plus of course getting all the things he never had before..

My downfall has always been kitchen… or items for the kitchen.. to the extent now where I have my own shed full of my kitchen stuff

Allan has two sheds and a greenhouse full of stuff not to mention the spare bedroom and its cupboard.. (where all the power tools are now safe under lock and key from the local friendly tea-leaf)  You see even when the shed got broken into and all his power tools were stolen. over time not only has he replaced them he has added to his original collection.

The house is once again bursting at the seams.. only with an added shed full.

we have wall to wall furniture.. we still have Ali’s old cot bed in our bedroom.  the only difference is instead of having a child in it its now stacked full of stuff thats to be sorted or go in the loft…

the loft is full.. or appears so although I do think with a tidy up.. (notice I didn’t say clear out)  we could fit a lot more up there.

We have now got the front of the garden finally looking nice and neat and is relatively maintenance free… The back garden is again a work in progress especially in the patio area

so now the spring has arrived I’m getting the urge to get the spare junk room and our bed room sorted.

I jokingly said to Allan last night, what we need is a sleep sofa in the front room … we could get rid of the bed upstairs in our room and turn it into more of a storage space instead of climbing over everything to get to bed at night… The worrying thing is he actually looked like he was thinking about it..

I think the time has come for a spring clean and maybe a tad of a declutter 🙄

Work in progress…

No sooner has he finally finished my shed… *oh yes I love it*  He indoor’s has now started on project number two

and that is doing the front garden.  Last april time we had driveways put in they block paved but the problem was the actual garden level was about 7 inches above the driveway so you not only tripped over that

you also had to walk across the grass which in the rain turned to very slippy mud to get to the front door or vice versa to the car from the front door.

In an idea world I would of liked plumb slate  … in reality  even allowing the fact that the cost would be astronomical I can see one of the local under 4ft child spawn’s throwing the slate and

either the car window or house windows being smashed..

So for the cost of the slate I have decided to go for pea shingle and some nice concrete planters.  (nice heavy ones that local tea leaves cant lift. for obvious reasons)

but first of all of course the turf had to go and then all the top soil. so far two trailer full loads have gone and they are still only 2ft down the garden.. ho hum.. house full of mud..

not to mention a hallway full of tools from the previous two jobs undertaken because of course nothing ever gets put away..

Wonder how long this is going to take.. at the moment I now have to back the car out of the drive and onto the road so the boys can walk down the path to get into the car..

they say a couple of weeks I say a couple of months……..

My very own Erection is Finally ready for use!

The Day has come It’s finally ready for me to use!!  What you ask… My Erection… Or simply put my very own Garden Shed…

My extension of the kitchen.

About two or more years ago we got a conservatory.. about 10ft x 10ft…  All we needed to do was get the base sorted and it would give me so much more room for all the kitchen stuff etc.

Problem was there was never anyone either skilled enough or had time to get this conservatory up..

At some point the local light-fingered brigade had tried to help themselves to the Ally and put it in next doors garden for collection. Joyce’s  garden is a wilderness to put it lightly.  She hasn’t been out there and done anything in over the 7 years since we have been here…. Anyway the Ally frame was spotted and recovered but of course we were never 100% sure it was all there.. So again All enthusiasm into getting it put up was lost.. After over 2 years of waiting i just suggested one day… wouldn’t it be easier just to do away with the conservatory and get a shed…… at least we could make it a bit more secure… we wouldn’t need to spend fortunes on a base and getting it up and of course i wouldn’t need blinds etc to stop the local tea leaf from seeing everything inside.

I think the fact that it would save us over £1000 to put it up appealed the most…

So on boxing day (WTF) it was decided that the shed was to be ordered. problem is the conservatory still needed moving as it was stacked up where the shed is going to go…  I had to defer delivery time twice while Allan got his Arse in gear and finally scrap and weigh in the Conservatory.. done eventually the day before the shed arrived.

Having taken delivery of the shed it was then stacked in a pile in the garden..

A week later reinforcements were called in to help get the shed up, Good old Andy was recruited to help out as usual when it comes to any job that needs doing. I’m not saying that Allan is incapable of doing anything like this but for some reason he always needs a hand doing it 🙄 and said person giving the hand usually ends up doing most of the work….

Anyway  we get as far as the shed up with the aid of help

Next to be done was the reinforced flooring because the flooring that came with it wouldn’t be strong enough to take the weight of the freezer, fridge and everything else I wanted to put in it..

Oh and then there was the insulation to keep it warmer, and the electrics……. these jobs were done on days when Allan had the time… total time taken for finishing touches… 4 weeks…..

So Here we are … An off cut of carpet later.. The side bit will be covered so you wouldn’t know and my shed is ready for filling. Of course the first job was get big chest freezer, fridge and my spare tumble dryer out of the other sheds and in there…

Allan had some  spare time yesterday to get  across  the fridge and tumble dryer which were at the back of his garden tool shed and the big chest freezer was in the other shed which used to be his tool shed until the light-fingered one help himself. now we keep junk in it and his power tools upstairs in the spare room 😦 Anyway He had dumped so much stuff by it in his shed, that when I need bits out of  the freezer,  I kind of have to reach over……. 🙄  I’m hoping that today is that day…..

Oh I cant wait to be able to use it without the risk of serious bodily damage first .

So white good moved over Shelves in… Brand new carpet filthy from Allan’s muddy shoes when he was moving the white good in… DOH!!!  but a small price to pay for more space 🙂

(I would just like to say that the reason the garden is muddy is my father is constantly letting the dog out onto the grass   😦  )

I can start clearing my very cluttered kitchen.. Fingers crossed!!

Lousy Sunday! Same thing week in week out… Sunday is the Evil Day!

I have to admit I’m not a fan of Sundays at the best of times,

for some reason Allan always seems to shout a lot and do his impression of  Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde usually aimed at the kids but sometimes I seem to get in the firing line… 😡

It doesn’t help that my dad is around most of the day on Sunday as well as he comes for his roast dinner on Sunday,  problem is he comes about 9am in the morning and stays until tea time so we dont actually get much time together.  By we I mean Me, Allan and the boys , Just occasionally it would be nice to have some “Us” time without pater there…

This Sunday has got to have been the worst in ages…..

Ali woke us up very early wanting to play, i convinced him to come and have a cuddle and he got in our bed in the middle and went back to sleep so we all got an extra couple of  hours in bed.. get up and just about to make the tea when my dad arrives…

The menfolk plan for today was lay the new lawn…  Both dad and Allan had made a start last night when the turfs were delivered so it was a case of getting the rest done today.  roast dinner was planned for the evening so gardening could be done all day instead of  just in the morning what usually happens is we have roast at one and then being to full to do anymore :) thats it for the day

the next part of the plan was for just some sandwiches, cake, crisps at one when the grand prix actually started so it could be watched before gardening was resumed.

fine they got half the turfs down, i got sandwiches etc done and we sit down and have lunch.  and we watch the grand prix

now bearing in mind no one is allowed to breath when Arsenal are playing the formula one is “MY” thing and i like to watch the whole race!!

Now the one pain of the BBC taking it over is there is no adverts for me to go put the kettle on, check dinner, get kids drinks , cook, serve, eat dinner, have a pee or do any other thing anyone wants.

So  here I am, im trying to watch grand prix, kids stuffed faces and got bored.. the pc in the corner is taken apart at the moment while he is decorating so they cant go and play on that…I had emptied the toy box upstairs when i had a tidy up in the morning so no toys lying around to play with… what happens next they start to argue…..in the end both are screaming……who is the one thats is trying to watch tv yes me…. im the one missing the grand prix plus
having to get up and sort them out every five mins

Allan gets the strop and storms out into the garden. muttering something about might as well do that as he cant watch or hear the tv because of the kids……..  great boys follow him into the garden  dad and i watch the F1 :) all quiet until Ali comes in screaming and i mean screaming…… Alex comes in screaming and really upset…… they tell me daddy has throw Ali’s favourite ball  which i might add is one of these little material soft balls, about the size of a grapefruit over into next doors garden… picture this garden  no one has been out in it in the whole time we have lived here nearly 6 years and  hadnt been touched for a good two or three years before that  so its all weeds and brambles…

I go out to see whats happened and Allan is shouting his mouth off….. apparently ali was on the lawn part he had turfed playing with this ball,  ok you shouldn’t walk on turf when its being layed but they had already let the boys walk on it all morning because they (my dad and allan) said their weight wouldn’t make any difference…..   anyway Allan had shouted his mouth of at Ali and then taken the ball off him and thrown it over the fence……  then he starts shouting at me. i cant even remember what he was ranting about so i think to hell with you and told him next time he leaves anything in my way i’ll act as childish as him and throw his stuff over the fence…   Ali is sobbing by now really sobbing rubbing his eyes with grubby paws .. remember he has been out in the garden so then his eyes get red  he takes off his glasses…

finally Ali  calms down and the grand prix has finished wow i got to watch the last few laps in peace…. well done Jenson by the way :) Ali has the hump because he wants to go with them in the end he gets out because they leave the front door open.. Alex is out there was well, the lawn is finished in the back so they go out the front to do a few bits  Allan comes in stressed again because they keep trying to escape

time for a cup of tea……. we sit down.. Ali still rubbing eyes takes off his glasses again….. Alex was playing in the hallway we thought ali went with him. the next thing i see is ali at the top of the stairs and bump bang bang as he falls down the whole flight,  i have never moved so fast in my life both Allan and i got to him as he hit the bottom.  first good sign he screams his head off…… much better then lying there quiet and he wriggles and gets up. we check him all over… the only place he has hurt himself his his bum and his shoulder blades. he got carpet burns on them.. nothing else was banged or hurt… he told us where he hurt…… one very lucky escape when i think what could of happened i was the one shaking afterwards when i think of what could of happened to my baby.

by now Allan has chilled out a little…… we have dinner finally about 7pm by which point ali was tired didnt want his dinner and we getting humpy.. no good putting him in the bath now he could hardly keep his eyes open.  he lies down has a drink and falls asleep on the sofa…  Alex watches tv for a while, dad goes home……… Alex goes to bed…..

by which point i seriously need a drink lol  except I cant drink ive just started taking some anti biotics that we had a full course of because Allan hadnt taken any for an infected insect bite because it had started clearing up on its own…. anyway i decided yesterday to take them as my finger is really swollen and has gone infected where Iggy bit me a few days ago.. plus its really painful and the other scratches although they had healed a bit really really itch like an insect bite does so i figure i might as well take them… I knew it was infected as they had swollen up like sausages and there was a nice yellow glow going on there.. 😦

Now in all honestly i hate shouting….. i lived with someone who was always shouting someone who was always moaning and shouting and swearing at me and the kids.. (ironic really they do say history repeats itself ) anyway i try not to argue….. I think allan and i had been together four years before he raised his voice at me…  that i wont put up with… now i shout back…….

its when he gets stressed out at the kids for no reason that really gets to me,

ok i admit im very protective of my chic’s im the first to shout at them when they do something bad but hey i made them i can break them lol

but i dont shout at them for trivial things like Allan does.. “Every Sunday”

it’s days like today that i really wish i was single……..
